THACKERVILLE, Okla. – The Angelo State University women's golf team remains in seventh place following the second round of the WinStar Invitational at WinStar Scissortail Golf Course, carding an 18-over on Monday to bring its tournament total to 41-over.
Five Rambelles improved their individual standing following the second round, led by
Caitlin Vanderkruk, who continued to pace the Blue and Gold. Vanderkruk carded another 74 (+2) to move into a tie for 11th place.
Kelsey Kline also moved up the leaderboard, shooting a 76 (+4) to sit tied for 34th.
Bao Nghi Than followed with a 77 (+5), while
Kara Knight carded a 79 (+7).
Emma Cook improved by one stroke from her opening round, finishing with an 82 (+10).
Ava Key rounded out the Rambelles' lineup with a 96 (+24).
All three of Angelo State's individuals improved in the second round, highlighted by
Ainsley Burns, who fired a 71 (-1) to move into a tie for 22nd. Burns' round marked the first time a Rambelle has carded an under-par round this season.
Addison Barber also climbed the leaderboard after shooting a 73 (+1) and now sits in 20th place.
Brinley Patterson carded a 78 (+6) in the second round.
The Rambelles will complete competition at the WinStar Invitational Wednesday, Sep. 8.
