Nick Barron stays in his hometown to continue his education and baseball career by joining the Rams following a standout career at San Angelo Central. A 5-foot-11 infielder, Barron earned District 2-5A second team honors after a senior season where he helped lead the Bobcats past the area round of the Class 5A playoffs for the first time in school history. Also a wide receiver on the Bobcat football team, he was a four-year letterman on the baseball field where he earned postseason district honors after each season. He was an Underclass High Honorable Mention selection in the 2012 and 2013 season by Perfect Game.

"He is a strong hitter who has some pop, but can also hit it all over the field," Brooks said. "I think he'll be a guy who does a great job of progressing at the college level."
