Prior to Angelo State Kohler transfers to Angelo State after playing two seasons at Angelina College where he earned all-conference honors and was selected to last season's all-regional tournament team. A Medina, Ohio native, Kohler moved to Texas and was a two-sport star playing baseball and basketball at Dripping Springs High School. He was a four-year letterman in both sports and played his high school baseball for head coach Chris Payne. His team made the playoffs his senior season and he earned all-district honors. During his final year at Angelina, Kohler hit .326 and drove in 15 runs.
"He is a really solid guy who can play shortstop and second base," ASU head coach
Kevin Brooks said. "He gets the most out of what he has by showing up to the field everyday ready to compete. I think he'll help us in the infield next season."
