Garrett Powers has joined the ASU baseball program after hitting .464 with five home runs and 37 RBI during his senior season at Wall High School. Powers, a 5-foot-11 outfielder, helped the Hawks to the regional finals and earned a slew of postseason honors including District 6-2A Defensive MVP, Big Country FCA All-Star, THSBCA Class 2A All-State and the San Angelo Standard-Times All-West Texas Team. He also hit .440 with six home runs and 11 doubles as a junior. He is a two-time Class 2A all-state performer and a three-time all-district selection.

"He had a great season at Wall and really improved his swing," Brooks said. "He has lightening quick hands and can run. He's a tremendous athlete who will have to adjust to the college game, but I think he has a lot of tools which will help him make the transition successfully."
