Garrison Gibson enters his freshman season at Angelo State after a strong high school career at A&M Consolidated. Gibson hit .303 with a .465 on-base percentage during his senior season at Consolidated and also had a .333 slugging percentage for head coach Chase Mann.

"He is a hard worker on the field and plays with enthusiasm," Brooks said. "He has potential and will continue to develop the more he works."

Beyond the Game
I’m excited about this season because: As a team we have the chance to do some really amazing things.
Who I would immediately call after a game if I hit a game-winning home run or threw a no-hitter: I would call my Dad because we've always talked about those kind of moments.
Favorite baseball memory throughout my lifetime: My favorite baseball memory would have to be the day I committed to play for Angelo State University.
Actor who would play me in a movie: I would have to say Mark Wahlberg or Samuel L. Jackson.
Actress who would play my girlfriend in a movie: Thats a tough one, probably Jennifer Lawrence or Scarlett Johansson.
The three other people I would want in a golf foursome: Happy Gilmore, Captain Jack Sparrow, and Jackie Robinson.
People would be surprised if they knew I could: Act like a normal human being. I am pretty weird and goofy most of the time.
Favorite band/artist: I don't really have a favorite band or artist. I guess I just like whatever sounds good to my ears and something I can jam to. 
Favorite movie: My favorite movie would have to be Warrior with Tom Hardy and Joel Edgerton
Favorite television show: The Big Bang Theory for sure
Favorite Major League Baseball team: If I have to pick one I would say the Los Angeles Angels.
Funniest teammate: Kellen Rholl. He is a lefty in every sense of the meaning.
Most serious teammate: Cody Semler 
My least favorite nickname I’ve had in my life: Man I've had some bad ones. I have to say the worst was probably "mayonnaise" or "the walking paper" because of how white I am.
Best nickname on the team: Danny "Sun Bear" McInnis. You can't beat the name Sun Bear!
Favorite coach Brooks saying: "You've got to trust your teammates, but you can't trust 'em!"
If I wasn’t playing baseball I would be: On a lake fishing or in the woods hunting
After graduating from Angelo State University, I want to: Be somewhere in a team's farm system working to make it to the show and live my dream. 
Our team will be successful this season if we: Communicate with each other and lean on one another. We have to play as a team and not individuals.
