Prior to Angelo State
J.C. Snyder transfers to Angelo State from Brigham Young University where he played in 17 games with 12 starts last season for the Cougars. Snyder is a 6-foot-2 player who can play in the outfield or in the infield for the Rams this season. A senior, he started his collegiate career at Salt Lake Community College before transferring to BYU. During his one season at BYU, he had eight hits and six RBI in 41 at-bats. At Salt Lake CC, he earned second-team All-Region 18 honors after hitting three home runs, three triples eight doubles during his sophomore season.

He was selected in the 36th round of the Major League Baseball Draft by the Seattle Mariners but elected to play baseball at BYU where his father Cory Snyder was an All-American from 1982-84. Cory Snyder played for the Los Angeles Dodgers, San Francisco Giants, Toronto Blue Jays, Cleveland Indians and Chicago White Sox during a nine-year MLB career.

"He has a lot of power and is very good defensively," said ASU head coach Kevin Brooks of Snyder. "He has a rocket for an arm like his dad. I think he's one of those guys who will come in ready to work and will really add talent and a strong work ethic. I think he'll be a force for us."
