Jarryd Klemm transfers to Angelo State after playing the past two seasons at Frank Phillips College where he hit 11 home runs. An Australia native, Klemm hit .355 with six home runs, 15 doubles and drove in 53 runs during his sophomore season at Frank Phillips College. He hit .324 with five home runs as a freshman and was selected as a regional all-star. An outfielder/catcher, Klemm played his high school baseball at Tyndale Christian School in Australia before arriving in Texas.
"He can play catcher or center field for us," ASU head coach
Kevin Brooks said. "He helped led Frank Phillips to its conference championship by doing a great job of hitting in the middle of the lineup. He could be a force for us there too if he comes in and continues to develop like I know that he can."
Klemm joins Chris Adamson and Jason Morriss as Australians who have made their way to San Angelo to play baseball for the Rams.
