Grant Mikita

Grant Mikita enters his second season as a graduate assistant for the Ram Basketball program.

Last season, the Rams had four all-conference players, with Steve Webb being named the LSC Defensive Player of the Year. Additionally, Webb and KK Godwin received all-region honors.

In his first season in San Angelo, Mikita helped guide the Rams to a 26-7 overall record and made it to the LSC Tournament Finals and the NCAA South Central Regional, where the Rams won their first postseason game since 2016.

Mikita comes to ASU from Northwestern Oklahoma State, where he served as a graduate assistant under Rams head coach Vinay Patel.

Mikita has also been an assistant coach at Panola College and Ranger College.

As a student, Mikita was a student manager for the University of North Texas Men's Basketball team from 2015-17, where he served under current TCU Associate Head Coach Tony Benford. With the Mean Green, he also assisted Todd Shelton, the Director of Basketball Operations, in 2017.

Mikita received his bachelor's degree from UNT in 2017, majoring in Recreation, Event, and Sport Management. At ASU, he is pursuing his master's degree in Coaching, Sport, Recreation, and Fitness Administration. He will also receive a master's degree in Sports Administration from Northwestern Oklahoma State in May.
