Gabriel Hidalgo begins his second season with the women’s tennis program heading into the 2021-22 season.
Originally from Barquisimeto, Venezuela, Hidalgo was ranked the top 15 nationally in juniors. He played four seasons at UT Tyler in Division III, earning back-to-back ASC Conference Championships in 2017 and 2018. Serving as team captain his final two years, he was a DIII Regional finalist in doubles, was selected for the ASC Sportsmanship Award, and was a UT Tyler Student-Athlete of the Year finalist.
Academically, Hidalgo graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BBA in Marketing and earned Scholar-Athlete of the Year in senior season.
