Garcia Ramser enters his fourth season as the Assistant Coach for the Belles Volleyball program.
In the 2021 season, the Belles went 24-5 overall, winning the LSC regular-season championship with a 16-1 record in LSC play. Three Belles – Kailyn Gilbreath, Baleigh Allen, and Sophia Berg – earned conference superlative awards, with Gilbreath being named the conference’s player of the year and offensive player of the year, while Allen was the LSC Defensive Player of the Year, and Berg was the academic player of the year. All three would earn AVCA All-American honors, while Berg was also named a CoSIDA Academic All-American.
In his first season in San Angelo, Ramser helped guide the Belles to a 16-2 overall record and the Lone Star Conference Tournament Championship, as well as winning the AVCA DII National Championship.
Ramser comes to Angelo State following one season as an assistant coach at Canisius College.
In his only season at Canisius, Ramser helped the Griffs during a 12-6 record in the MAAC while also playing a role in the development of the team’s four All-MAAC recipients, including the emergence of freshmen Bree Long and Ella Loussia into MAAC All-Rookie selections. Ramser played an integral part in the team's accomplishment, repeating their second-place conference finish from the previous year.
Ramser transitioned to a new position with the Golden Griffins from Quincy University, where he served as a graduate assistant for the men’s volleyball program during the 2018-19 season. He helped Omari Wheeler and Noam Hannoun earn All-Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association honors in one season with the Hawks.
Before Quincy, Ramser spent four years as an undergraduate student manager for the Pittsburgh women’s volleyball program. He also was the men’s club volleyball coach during his final two years with the Pitt Panthers, being named the 2018 National Collegiate Volleyball Federation Men’s Division I Coach of the Year. In those two years, the men’s team finished ninth and 33rd nationally with Ramser at the helm.
Before his time with the Pitt men’s club team, Ramser was the head junior varsity coach and assistant varsity coach with the Montour High School volleyball program.
A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., Ramser graduated in 2018 from the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor’s degree in materials science and engineering. He earned his master’s degree in educational leadership from Quincy University in 2020.
