Biography

Coach Waddington's Take on Kailyn Troxell:
“Kailyn adds some depth to an already deep group of middle blockers.  She is well trained and wants to be great.  She seems pretty quiet on the exterior, but on the inside, she wants to beat you at whatever you are doing.  That is something you just can't teach.”

At Angelo State University
Troxell enters her third season at ASU with 57 career kills after contributing 47 last season as a sophomore... Troxell has played in 38 matches in her two seasons with the Belles and has 28 career blocks... She established a career-best seven kills last season against Metro State and had five blocks against Colorado School of Mines in a match during her freshman season.

Beyond the Court

Kailyn Troxell  |  Middle Blocker  |  Junior  |  Pampa, Texas
  • Expectations and goals for the 2014 season:  One major goal for the 2014 season is to go farther in the post-season than last year.  I want us to be able to host the Conference Tournament as well as the Regional Tournament and then go to the Elite Eight.
  • Most proud accomplishment: I am most proud of my grades and the hard work I put towards academics.
  • Why playing at Angelo State was a great decision: Our team is like my second family and I can honestly say these girls are my best friends.  We really have amazing team cohesion and want the best for each other on and off the court.   We get so much support from the school and community.  The program focuses on helping us be the best student-athletes by emphasizing the importance of our academics and volleyball.
  • What do you enjoy most about playing in the Junell Center? I love that our gym is so big.  We really are blessed with such awesome facilities.  I also love that we have a student section that shows such great support.
  • Teammate I wouldn't want to try and dig in a match:  Arielle Bond
  • Funniest Teammate and why: Katie MacLeay. She has some good dance moves.  She also has the most interesting stories.
  • Most serious teammate and why:  I really don't think anyone is too serious on our team, but Cerbi Ritchey seems serious at first.  Once you get to know her she is so funny!
  • Dream Concert: George Strait and Taylor Swift
  • Dream Vacation: Australia
  • Dream Career: Nurse in the neonatal unit
  • Special talent: I can wakeboard!
  • Favorite memory on volleyball court: Beating WT at home.
