Katie MacLeay enters her junior season with 782 career digs after providing 416 as a sophomore and 366 during her freshman season… MacLeay had 24 double-digit dig performances during her sophomore season including establishing a career-high with 2 against Midwestern State in a match played at the Junell Center… MacLeay is also a service specialist who has had three aces in four matches in her career… In total, MacLeay has 52 career aces after having 37 as a sophomore and 49 during her freshman season… She established a postseason career-high with 19 digs against Colorado School of Mines in the semifinals of the NCAA Division II South Central Championships after supplying 12 digs against West Texas A&M in the Lone Star Conference Championship Finals.

Lettered all four years at Brandeis HS under coach Maddie Williams…2011 Academic All-State... 2011 Class 5A All-State honorable mention... Served as team captain during junior and senior seasons... 2011 San Antonio Express-News All-Area Super Team... 2010 NISD Invitational All-Tournament Team... Helped the Broncos to a district championship in 2011…Also helped Brandeis to area finalist in 2010 and 2011…Earned First Team All-District in both seasons…Was also awarded a spot on the 2011 First Team Academic All-District…Named the KSAT 12 Scholar of the Week in 2011…Also lettered in track for four years.

Personal: Daughter of Anita and John Comander... Mother played volleyball at Texas Lutheran... Katie has been involved in the Honors Student Association, Phi Kappa Phi and SAAC.

Dream vacation: To take like 2 months off and go on a trip to the Europe/Middle East area where I go from country to country: France, Greece, England, Scotland, Germany, Italy and Israel.
Why I chose Angelo State: It was a place where I could be a student-athlete with dreams of going to medical school. My professors and Coach have worked around my busy schedule to make sure I'm successful on and off the court just as they promised when I came on my visit-I wouldn't want to be anywhere else!

Career plans after graduation: I'm going to medical school at Texas Tech to officially become Dr. Mac!
