SAN ANGELO, Texas – Angelo State's six-time All-American Chrystal Ruiz will be looking to qualify for the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships in the pentathlon and the 400M at the Grand Valley State Big Meet tomorrow in Allendale, Mich.

The Big Meet hosted by Grand Valley State is a three-day meet with the pentathlon to be contested on Friday starting at 9:50 a.m. CST. Ruiz is entered in the pentathlon and the women's 400M invite.

Ruiz will be looking for a NCAA Division II automatic mark of 3,813 points or a NCAA Division II provisional mark of 3,300 points in the pentathlon.  Three student-athletes have already hit the NCAA Division II automatic mark this season including defending NCAA Division II champion Lindsay Lettow of Central Missouri.

Ruiz best mark in the pentathlon came last season at the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships where she was runner up to Lettow with a score of 3,981. She has season bests of 8.18 in
the 55M hurdles, 5'-7” (1.70M) in the high jump and 18'-10” (5.74M) in the long jump. The senior ranks No. 10 in NCAA Division II for long jump and 14^th in the high jump with her marks.
