SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State men's basketball team hosts its home opener at 8 p.m. on Tuesday in a non-conference game against Arlington Baptist College at Stephens Arena in the Junell Center.
The Rams (2-0) are coming off two wins last weekend at the SWOSU Classic in Weatherford, Okla. with a 72-62 victory over East Central University followed by a 67-65 win against Southwestern Oklahoma State on its home court. ASU will also host York College at 7 p.m. on Saturday at the Junell Center after playing the Patriots who are opening their season on Tuesday.
"This is an important week for our team," ASU head coach
Chris Beard said. "Our approach is the most important game of the season is the next game on the schedule. Our players are looking forward to playing at home on our home court. We have two games and three practices this week and our focus continues to be to improve daily."

The Rams, who have already surpassed their road win total of last season, finished last weekend shooting 49 percent from the floor on offense and limiting their opponents to 36 percent.
"It is a common theme in sports to fight back and respond after some adversity," Beard said. "Equally important, is how a team handles success. Our team won two games this past weekend but that is over now. It's all about the next game on the schedule. Our players need to understand that and respond this week at home."
