SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Angelo State softball team will try to get back on track in Laredo tomorrow as it will face Texas A&M International in a double header starting at 12 p.m.
The Rambelles are 9-5 on the season after going 1-4 at the ASU George McCorkle Classic. Texas A&M International is 9-9 on the season and 2-1 at home.
ASU defeated the Dust Devils once this season already at the St. Mary's Classic.
Sandra Serna and
Kacie Brann combined to strike out four and only allowed two runs.
Morgan Spearman and
Amanda Wilhelm both hit home runs and for Spearman it was her second grand slam of the season.
Angelo State will look to get its offense going after only having two hits in its last two games. Spearman is the top hitter with a .439 average, 18 hits and a .540 on-base percentage.
Lauren Smith is leading the team with 13 RBI's.
The Rambelles pitching staff will also look to get back on track after going 8-1 to open the season with a 1.84 earned-run average. After the weekend the ERA went up to 3.51 after giving up 11 earned runs and 17 total runs for the weekend.
ASU is 2-0 on the road this season beating St. Mary's and Southeastern Oklahoma.
