Rambelles Face No. 15 Texas Woman’s in Denton

SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Angelo State softball team will travel to Denton this weekend for an important Lone Star Conference series against No. 15 Texas Woman's on Friday and Saturday.

The Rambelles take a 25-12 overall and 10-5 Lone Star Conference record into the matchup with Texas Woman's (34-9, 12-3). The Pioneers are tied for first place and the Rambelles are in third in the LSC standings.

ASU is coming off their first LSC series loss of the season. The Rambelles struggles in the series with Incarnate Word only scoring four runs in three games and have not scored in the last 14 innings of play.

The Rambelles for the season are hitting .311 and have a collective earned-run average of 3.41. During Lone Star Conference play, ASU is hitting .294 and holding teams to a 3.09 ERA.

On the road this season ASU has hit .323 and held teams to a 2.44 ERA while compiling a record of 10-2 overall and 5-1 in the LSC. The two road losses have come to UT-Permian Basin and No. 22 Midwestern State.

Senior Kacie Easley is the Rambelles top hitter on the season at .417 but has turned it up during conference play. Ealsey is hitting .500 in LSC play with 13 RBI's and 18 hits. She is No. 21 nationally in on-base percentage at .548 for the season. She is one home run away from tying the ASU career record for home runs at 39.

Sandra Serna is 16-3 on the season with a 2.50 ERA. She is 7-1 in conference play and has only allowed 16 earned runs in the LSC. She has struck out 20 batters in nine conference appearances and limiting LSC teams to a .233 average.

First pitch is scheduled for Friday night at 6 p.m. with the doubleheader starting Saturday at 1 p.m.
