DENVER – Arielle Bond had a career high 15 kills to help lead the Angelo State volleyball team to a 3-1 (25-20, 11-25, 25-16, 25-16) win over No. 3 Nebraska-Kearney on Friday in the first match of the Colorado Premier Challenge at the Auraria Event Center. The victory marks the highest ranked team the ASU program has ever beat and the first time it has beat a top-5 opponent since the 1991 team beat No. 5 Central Missouri State in five sets.

"That was a huge win for our program, but not the most important match of this weekend," ASU head coach Chuck Waddington said. "We're excited about it for sure, but we're gearing up for our next match against Metro State. Hopefully the girls stay level headed and we are only part of the way done with what we are trying to do here. We are happy, but we want to get the next win."
