Box Score

STEPHENVILLE – The No. 25 Angelo State softball team beat Tarleton State 5-1 in the final game of a three game series on Saturday afternoon.

The Rambelles moved to 14-6 and 2-1 in the LSC while the Texanns fell to 9-14 and 1-2 in the LSC. It is the second-straight win for ASU after dropping the first game 7-6 in extra inning last night. The two teams will face each other one more time at the LSC Showcase

"I thought Kenedy (Urbany) bounced back and threw a very good game for us," head coach Travis Scott said. "We were solid on defense and had some good at-bats in critical situations. We wanted the sweet but Tarleton State has always been tough at home."

Darian Dunn got the game started off with a bang in the top of the first. The sophomore hit a two-run home run, the seventh of the season, to put ASU up 2-0.

Kenedy Urbany took care of the rest. The freshman limited the Texanns to only one run on seven hits. She struck out four for her eighth victory of the season.

The Helotes native also added an RBI with a double to left center in the fourth inning. Megan Granado recorded an RBI on a sacrifice fly in the fourth to put the Rambelles on top 4-0.

Micherie Koria would score on an error by the right fielder to put the Rambelles up 5-0 in the seventh.

The only run for Tarleton State was a solo home run in the sixth.

The Rambelles return home to Mayer Field to take on Texas A&M-International for a three game series on Tuesday and Wednesday before hosting No. 4 Texas Woman's on Friday and Saturday.
