No. 11 Rambelles Ready for Road Test at Cameron

SAN ANGELO –
The No. 11 Angelo State softball team will head to Lawton, Okla., to face Cameron in a four-game LSC series at McMahon Field and Athletics Center.

The Rambelles (22-7, 7-1 LSC) have won 10-straight games for the first time since 2012. ASU went 20- during the LSC Showcase with wins over Eastern New Mexico and No. 17 Texas Woman's. The Rambelles are leading the conference in average (.360), runs (252), hits (278) and RBIs (230). Nationally, ASU is No. 2 in runs per game (8.69), No. 3 in slugging percentage (.595), No. 7 in home runs per game (1.45) and No. 10 in batting average (.360)
 
ASU moved up one spot in the NFCA poll after going 2-0 at the LSC Showcase. The Rambelles are one of three teams ranked in the top 25. West Texas A&M is No. 1 for the fourth-straight week while Texas Woman's dropped to No. 18. Midwestern State is receiving votes.
 
Tina Cisneros, the LSC Co-Hitter of the Week, had one of her best weeks of the season. The junior hit .571 with a double, one home run and had the game winning hit in the eighth inning against TWU. She had an on-base percentage of .556 and a slugging clip of 1.143. The Dripping Springs native is hitting .297 on the season with 12 runs scored and 18 RBIs. She is tied for third on the team with 16 walks and has reached base safely in the last 11 games.
 
Morgan Spearman only hit .250 last weekend but did draw five walks. The senior is leading the conference in average (.531), walks (27), doubles (11), on-base percentage (.646), runs scored (40) and hits (43). She is second on the team with 31 RBIs and leads ASU with a .914 slugging percentage. The Kennedale native has reached safely in 22-straight games.
 
Micherie Koria is third in the conference in steals with 19 and batting average at .466. The junior has scored 34 runs with two doubles while also drawing 13 walks. The San Diego native does lead the team with 10 hit-by-pitches. She is 19-of-22 on the base path.
 
Darian Dunn added to her league leading 57 RBIs  over the weekend. The Frisco native is two RBIs away from moving into fifth place on the single season RBI list. She leads the nation in total RBIs with 57 but is third in RBIs per game at 1.97. Dunn has had 16 games of multiple RIBs.
 
Rachel Moore is fourth on the team in average with a .378. She has seven doubles and six home runs this season to go along with 21 runs scored and 26 RBIs.
 
Megan Granado was consistent at the plate hitting .429 at the LSC Showcase. She is now hitting .304 on the season and has an eight game hitting streak. The junior has 24 hits with seven doubles and five home runs. She has scored 20 runs and hit is 22 RBIs.

Kenedy Urbany has continued to improve in the circle and at the plate. The freshman moved to 12-1 on the season with a win over No. 17 Texas Woman's. She has eight complete games and leads the team with 47 strikeouts. At the plate, Urbany has reached base safely in 11-straight games. The Helotes native is hitting .371 on the season with six doubles and six home runs. She leads the nation with six sacrifice flies and is third on the team with a .714 slugging clip.

Mary Kate McKay earned her third win of the season limiting ENMU to one run on eight hits at the LSC Showcase. The senior is leading the Rambelles with a 3.10 ERA in 40.2 innings of work.

Sandra Serna is 7-4 on the season with a 3.61 ERA. She is second on the team with 44 strikeouts and is limiting opponents to a .240 batting average.

Cameron is 15-9 on the season and 3-5 against Lone Star Conference opponents. The Aggies have won their last two games including a 9-8 win over No. 1 West Texas A&M. Tara Martini, the LSC Co-Hitter of the Week, is hitting .434 this season to lead Cameron. Kelsey Watson is tops in the circle with a 3.97 ERA and is 7-5 on the season.

ASU is 20-1 all-time against the Aggies. The only loss in the series came in February of 2010 in a 5-3 loss in Abilene. Both Friday and Saturday's doubleheaders will be at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
