12487SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State volleyball team will ride a six-match winning streak into a non-conference contest against Texas-Permian Basin at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Falcon Dome in Odessa.

ASU (7-1, 3-0 LSC) comes into the match with a 4-1 non-conference record and is 3-0 on the road this season after picking up road victories last weekend over Cameron, Midwestern State and Harding. The Belles will return to Lone Star Conference action after their match at UTPB (3-3) with a 1 p.m. match on Saturday against Texas A&M-Kingsville at the Junell Center.

Despite going 4-0 last week, Angelo State fell out of the AVCA Coaches Top-25 Poll for the first time in 39 poll releases. The string of consecutive rankings dated back to Sept. 12, 2011.

Quotes  ||  Chuck Waddington, Angelo State head coach

On his impressions of last week's matches:
"Anytime you can get wins on the road is a good thing. I felt like we played better and better with each match during the weekend in front of a hostile crowd at both places. We did a good job of handling that by staying the course and focusing on what we could control on our side of the net."

On the progress of the Belles offensive attack:
"We were able to start getting our middles more involved in our offense this week. That also created more opportunities for other players like Abbie and other outsides. We are starting to click better on offense which is a good sign as the season goes on."

On playing against UTPB on Tuesday at the Falcon Dome in Odessa:
"Every time we play them it is a challenging match. They play a style that doesn't match up to our style and their gym is a tough place to play. I'm expecting a tough match."
