SAN ANGELO – The No. 21 Angelo State softball team will host Texas Woman's on Saturday, March 19 at 4 and 6:30 p.m. and on Sunday, March 20 at 1 and 3:30 p.m. in a Lone Star Conference series at Mayer Field.
The Rambelles are 18-9 on the season, 7-5 in the LSC and 9-1 at Mayer Field. ASU is No. 2 in the LSC in ERA with a 3.07 and has a team batting average of .331. Angelo State has lost five of its last six games which include four to No. 1 West Texas A&M.
Texas Woman's enters with a 17-9 overall record and 6-2 in the LSC. TWU is hitting .310 as a team with a 4.54 ERA. Tealey Farquhar is tops on the team with a .422 average and 19 stolen bases. Tori Bice is 11-5 on the year in the circle and maintains a 3.06 ERA.
Kenedy Urbany is tops on the team in hitting with a .424 average. She has 36 hits, nine doubles, one triple and a team high four home runs. She is tied for the team lead with 24 RBIS and second on the team with 14 walks. The junior also is tops on the team in slugging percentage (.694) and on-base percentage (.529). In the circle, Urbany is 9-3 with a 3.53 ERA. The Helotes native has thrown five complete games and one shutout. She has struck out 46 on the season.
Alexis Evans is second on the team in average at .400. She has recorded 28 hits, two doubles and two home runs. The Yuma, Arizona native leads the team with 15 walks. She has scored 18 runs and driven in 17 on the season. She has reached base safely in 24 consecutive games and has a three game hitting streak.
Bailey Wallace is hitting .388 and is third on the team with 33 hits. She leads ASU with 11 doubles and scoring 29 runs. The freshman has driven in 24 runs and holds a .476 on-base percentage. The Rockwall native has 12 multiple hit games this season.
Ambra Hill leads the team in stolen bases with 10 and is averaging .353 this season. The senior has 18 hits, two trips and 11 walks. She has scored 18 runs on the year and driven in nine RBIs.
Madison Greenwell is second on the team with 34 hits. The sophomore has seven doubles, one triple and scored 22 runs. She also has driven in 17 RBIs and stole nine bases on the season.
Kelly Johnson is hitting .333 this season with 19 hits, two doubles and two triples. She is slugging .463 on the year. The Double Oak native has scored 10 runs and driven in fve runs.
Taegan Kirk holds a .313 average with 25 hits. She has recorded six doubles and two home runs. The freshman has scored 15 runs and driven in 18.
Becky Wilhelm is one of three players with at least 20 RBIs on the season with 20. She is hitting .280 with 14 hits, five doubles and one home run.
Lanie Robinson is hitting .250 this season with 14 hits and three doubles. She has scored 11 runs and driven in nine. The senior has also drawn nine walks this season.
Brandy Marlett and Morgan Hill have been strong in the circle for ASU. Marlett is 6-4 on the year with a team low 2.62 ERA. She has struck out 66 on the season and holds teams to a .214 batting average. Hill is 2-2 on the season with a 2.81 ERA. She has pitched 32.1 innings and struck out 31 this season.
