SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State softball team travels to Stephenville to take on Tarleton State in a four game Lone Star Conference series on Friday, March 23 at 4 and 6:30 p.m. and Saturday, March 24 at 1 and 3:30 p.m.

The Rambelles are 19-12 on the season and 8-8 in the LSC. ASU has played 12 games on the road and are 7-5 in those contests. Angelo State is No. 4 in the conference in hitting with a .328 average and No. 2 in ERA with 3.30.

"We need to bounce back and find a way to win these close games," Angelo State head softball coach Travis Scott said. "We are doing a couple of little things wrong here and there that aren't allowing us to get the runs across that we need. We have to go to a tough place to play. They have a good team with a lot of returning starters. Both of us are struggling a little bit so it will be interesting. It is going to be a huge weekend for conference positioning and regional rankings."

Tarleton State is 17-16 on the season and 2-10 in the LSC. The Texans are hitting .304 with Nyka Wood leading the way with a .370 average. Hayley Freyman has a .282 ERA and a 13-12 overall record. TSU has a team ERA of 3.56.

Bailey Wallace is leading ASU with a .408 average. She has a team high 40 hits and 12 doubles. The freshman has scored 32 runs and driven in 24 on the season. The Rockwall native has been hit by 13 pitches and stole six bases on the season. She has a five game hitting streak currently.

Kenedy Urbany is second on the team with a .402 average and 39 hits. The junior has 10 doubles, one triple and team high four home runs. She has scored 30 runs and recorded 25 RBIs. She has drawn 20 walks on the season and is leading the team in slugging percentage (.649) and on-base percentage (.525). She has gone 9-3 in the circle and has a 3.34 ERA. The Helotes native has struck out 50 batters and limits teams to a 2.95 average.

Alexis Evans leads the team with 22 walks and has reached base safely in 28 straight games. She is averaging .388 at the plate as well. The junior has 31 hits, three doubles and two home runs. She has scored 22 runs and driven in 19 RBIs.

Ambra Hill is tops on the team with 13 stolen bases. She has a .345 average with 19 hits and two doubles. She has driven in nine runs and scored 19 runs. The Big Spring native also has 17 walks.

Taegan Kirk currently has a five game hitting streak while hitting .340 on the season. The freshman has 32 hits, nine doubles and two home runs. She has 25 RBIs along with 18 runs scored. She is one of four players with at least a .500 slugging percentage.

Madison Greenwell is hitting .339 on the season with 38 hits, seven doubles and one triple. She has scored 25 runs and driven in 18 on the season. The Flower Mound native has 12 walks and stole 11 bases.

Kelly Johnson has a .314 average. The junior has 22 hits, three doubles and two home runs. She has scored 10 runs while recorded eight RBIs.

Becky Wilhelm is second on the team with 24 RBIs this season. The freshman is hitting .305 with 18 hits, five doubles and two home runs. She has scored seven runs and drawn 12 walks.

Lanie Robinson recorded a walk-off single in game one of the series against TWU. The senior is hitting .234 with 15 hits and three doubles. She has scored 11 runs and driven in 12 while also drawing 10 walks.

Brandy Marlett leads ASU with a 3.24 ERA on the season. The sophomore is 6-6 on the season with two saves. She has struck out 68 batters and holds teams to a .246 batting average. Morgan Hill is 3-3 on the season with one save. She has a 3.31 ERA in 13 appearances. She has only allowed 26 runs and has struck out 34 this season.
