SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State softball team will hit the road for its final regular season road trip with a four game series at Texas A&M-Commerce starting with a doubleheader on Friday, April 15 at 4:30 p.m. and a doubleheader on Saturday, April 16 starting at 1:30 p.m.
The Rambelles are 29-16 after their sweep of UTPB on Wednesday and 13-11 in the LSC. ASU has won eight of its last 10 games and four straight. Angelo State is 12-8 on the road this season and was ranked No. 8 in the NCAA Division II South Central Regional poll announced yesterday. Â ASU is No. 6 nationally in on base percentage at .433 and No. 20 in scoring at 6.42 runs per game. The Rambelles are No. 2 in the LSC with a .331 average and No. 2 in ERA at 3.14.
Texas A&M-Commerce is 33-15 on the season and 15-13 in the LSC. Â The Lions are hitting .330 on the season with a 3.58 ERA. Kylene Hatton leads TAMUC with a .355 average with 44 hits and 11 doubles. Brittany Woolridge leads the staff with a 10-2 record and a 2.61 ERA.
Brandy Marlett continued her dominance of late with her seventh straight win against UTPB. She shutout the Falcons and limited them to just three hits. She is now 13-7 on the season with a 2.74 ERA. She has thrown 12 complete games and back-to-back shutouts. The sophomore has 118 strikeouts.
Kenedy Urbany has the team's best average at .400 on the season. She leads the team in hits (58), doubles (14), RBIs (44), runs scored (42), home runs (8) and slugging percentage (.676). Three of her eight home runs have come in the last six games She has drawn 23 walks and is tied for second on the team with a .503 on base percentage. The junior is also 10-4 on the season in the circle with a 2.98 ERA. She earned the win in the night cap against UTPB pitching 5.0 innings. The Helotes native has struck out 61 batters and holds teams to a .290 average.
Bailey Wallace, the No. 4 hardest batter to strikeout nationally, is hitting .383 on the season. She has recorded 51 hits and 12 doubles. The freshman has scored 41 runs and driven in 3 RBIs. She leads the LSC and is No. 4 nationally in hit-by-pitches with 21 on the season. The Rockwall native has also drawn 16 walks and stole nine bases on the season.
Alexis Evans has a .368 average with 46 hits on the season. She leads the team with 30 walks. The Yuma, Arizona native has five doubles, two home runs and scored 29 runs on the season. She is fifth on the team with 28 RBIs and tied for second with a .503 on base average.
Brooke Mangold is also hitting .342 on the season with 13 hits on the season. The sophomore has scored 11 runs while stealing eight bases. She has a .457 on base percentage and drawn seven walks on the season.
Madison Greenwell is hitting .333 on the team with 53 hits. She has eight doubles and tied for a team high with two triples. She has scored the third most runs with 39 and driven in 20 on the season. The sophomore has recorded a season high 21 walks and stole a team high 15 bases.
Taegan Kirk has a .331 average on the season with 45 hits. She has the third most doubles with 10 and third most RBIs with 35 on the season. The Lubbock native has scored 22 runs and blasted two home runs. She has walked 11 times on the season and is second on the team with eight multiple RBI games.
Lanie Robinson has continued to hit the ball lately improving her average to .320 on the season. She has 30 hits and on a current 11 game hit streak and 13 game reach base safely streak. The senior has scored  runs and driven in 19 runs this season. The Hitchcock native also has drawn 13 walks and recorded six doubles.
Becky Wilhelm will return to action this weekend after sitting out the UTPB series. The freshman is hitting .318 this season with 28 hits and six doubles. She has scored 11 runs and is fourth on the team 29 RBIs. The Round Rock native is slugging .489 on the season and has drawn 16 walks.
Ambra Hill has a .306 average with 22 hits. The senior has scored 24 runs while driving in 12 on the season. She has one doubles and two triples this season and has drawn 20 walks. She is second on the team with 14 stolen bases.
Kelly Johnson has started 26 games this season and holds a .298 average. The junior has 25 hits, four doubles and two triples. She has scored 13 runs and drawn nine walks.
Morgan Hill is 5-5 on the season with two saves in the circle. She is maintain a 4.00 ERA. She has helped at the plate with a .429 average with 15 hits. Her 15th hit was a solo home run on top of the batting cages against UTPB. The Salado native has also recorded three doubles and a triple. She has scored 13 runs and driven in eight on the season. The sophomore has a .743 slugging percentage and a .512 on base percentage.
