Rambelles Welcome St. Edward's to Mayer Field on Wednesday

SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Angelo State softball team will support the "It's On Us" campaign and welcome St. Edward's for a doubleheader on Wednesday, April 20 at 5 p.m. at Mayer Field.

The Rambelles are 30-19 on the season and split a doubleheader with St. Edward's on February 20. ASU is hitting .320 and has a team ERA of 3.12. Angelo State has excelled in the field with a .974 fielding percentage which leads the LSC and No. 9 in Division II. The Rambelles on base percentage of .423 is No. 8 in the nation.

"We need wins," Angelo State head softball coach Travis Scott said. "We are on the bubble of the regional rankings. They have a really good pitcher that we saw last time. They have a lot of speed that we need to stop. We have one week left in the regular season and we need it to be a good one."

St. Edward's is 23-20 on the season and has won its last three games. The Hilltoppers hit .305 as a team while holding an ERA of 3.26. Alex Mayfield leads the team with a .376 average and 53 hits. Lauren Slatten has a 16-9 record and a 2.03 ERA in the circle while striking out 187 batters.

The games will also be apart of the "It's On Us" campaign. ASU students will receive free food and t-shirts prior to the game and an information booth about the campaign will be setup. 

Kenedy Urbany leads the team with a .394 average on the season. She is also tops on the team in hits (61), doubles (14), runs (44), home runs (10), RBIs (10), slugging percentage (.690) and on base percentage (.508). The junior has hit five home runs in the last 10 games. The Helotes native has 19 multiple hit games and 12 multiple RBI games. She is currently on a seven game hit streak and has reached base safely in eight straight. She is 10-5 in the circle with a 3.05 ERA. She has one shutout and one save along with 62 strike outs.

Brandy Marlett had a streak of 21.1 scoreless innings last week and struck out a total of 34 batters. She is 14-8 on the season and has lowered her ERA to 2.69 on the season. She has thrown 14 completes games and three shutouts on the year. She leads the LSC with 145 strikeouts. She limits teams to a .225 average and threw a no-hitter against Texas A&M International. She also left in the fifth inning of game two against Texas A&M-Commerce with a no-hitter going. She held St. Edward's to three hits in her last matchup with the team.

Bailey Wallace is second o the team with a .368 average. She has 53 hits, 12 doubles and scored 41 runs. The freshman leads the LSC and is No. 4 nationally with 23 hit-by-pitches. She has also drawn 17 walks. The Rockwall native has driven in 34 RBIs and holds a .492 on base percentage. Sis one of

Alexis Evans is hitting .358 on the season with 48 hits. She has six home runs and three home runs. Her third home run was a solo shot in the series with TAMUC. She has scored 30 runs while driving in 29 on the season. The Yuma, Arizona native leads the team with 34 walks and she is second on the team with a .494 on base percentage.

Madison Greenwell is hitting .333 this season. She has the second most hits with 58 along with eight doubles and three triples. She has scored 39 runs and has 20 RBIs. She has walked 21 this season and is second on the team with 15 stolen bases.

Taegan Kirk has a .313 average as a freshman. She has recorded 46 hits, 10 doubles and two home runs. She is second on the team with 35 RBIs and has scored 22 runs. She has 11 walks and a .422 slugging percentage.

Ambra Hill leads the team with 16 stolen bases and has a .304 average. She has 24 hits, one double and two triples this season. The Big Spring native has scored 27 runs and recorded 12 RBIs along with 20 walks.

Becky Wilhelm is hitting .302 in her first season at ASU. The freshman has 29 hits, six doubles and three home runs. She has driven in 29 runs and scored 11. She is second on the team with a .458 slugging percentage.

Lanie Robinson has a .296 average with 32 hits and six doubles. She has added 19 RBIs and scored 20 runs this season with 17 walks.

Brooke Mangold and Kelly Johnson each are within a point with a .292 and a .291 average. Mangold has stolen nine bases and scored 11 runs while Johnson has scored 13 runs with four doubles and two triples.

Morgan Hill has a .405 average in 37 at-bats this season. She has 15 hits, three doubles, one triple and two home runs. The sophomore has scored 13 runs and a .703 slugging percentage. She is also 5-6 in the circle with a 4.00 ERA. She has thrown five complete games with one combined shutout. She has also struck out 56 batters.
