DENTON, TEXAS – The Angelo State women's volleyball team fell just short on the road Friday evening, losing 3-2 (19-25, 22-25, 25-16, 25-22, 9-15) to Texas Woman's.
The Belles got off to a very slow start, losing the first two sets for only the second time in conference play this season. They quickly regrouped, however, dominating the third and fourth sets to force a deciding fifth set. TWU led the fifth set from the start and cruised to victory at home.
Offensively, the Belles were led by Baleigh Allen, who posted a season and career high 18 kills on a .417 hitting percentage. Audrey Fragniere and Anna Graham also got into double digits with 14 and 13 kills, respectively.
Defensively, the Belles were led by Makenna Hanssen, who posted a season and career high 20 digs. Setter Meghan Parker was right behind with 19, libero Chloe Robinson posted 17, and Sundara Chinn added 15.
Parker had another excellent outing, adding 49 assists, three kills, and a service ace to go along with the 19 digs.
The Belles have a quick turnaround as they will take on Texas A&M-Commerce tomorrow at 2 p.m.
