SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State women's volleyball team defeated Eastern New Mexico 3-0 (25-14, 25-16, 25-17) to move to 19-7 (12-4 Lone Star Conference) and sweep the season series.
The Belles put together a dominant first set, holding ENMU to a negative hitting percentage. The second set was a bit more closely contested, but the Belles still held Eastern to a hitting percentage of .116. ASU absolutely dominated the third and final set, hitting .448 and holding ENMU to an .051 hitting percentage.
Offensively, the Belles were led by Sophia Berg, who set a career high with 12 kills on a .588 hitting percentage. Audrey Fragniere was not far behind with 11, and Baleigh Allen added seven on a .462 hitting percentage.
Defensively, the Belles placed three players in double digits in the dig column, led by Makenna Hanssen's 18. Libero Chloe Robinson and Sundara Chinn each added 13 for the contest, and setter Meghan Parker added eight.
Baleigh Allen and Sophia Berg were an absolute force at the net, combining for 10 blocks on the afternoon. Sundara Chinn was not far behind with four blocks of her own.
Setter Meghan Parker was her usual excellent self, recording 37 assists and two service aces, adding to her conference leading total.
The Belles will be in action again next weekend as they battle Cameron and Midwestern State here in Stephens Arena at the Junell Center.
