SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State women's basketball team had an excellent tuneup for the season Sunday afternoon as they defeated Sul Ross 99-62.
Marquita Daniels had an excellent start to her season with 22 points on 9-11 shooting. She added seven rebounds, six steals, and five assists on the afternoon. Maria Delgado also had a great debut for the Belles with 20 points on 7-13 shooting with three three pointers. She added five rebounds, two assists, and two blocks on the afternoon. The two were joined in double digits in the scoring column by De'Anira Moore, Dezirae Hampton, and Catara Samuel.
Every active player for the Belles got into the game, including local freshman Macy McNutt and sophomore Audrinique Anthony-Harris.
The Belles will be in action again on November 17th as they travel to Denton to compete in the Texas Woman's University tournament. These will be the first regular season games for the Belles.
