SAN ANGELO – The No. 2 Angelo State softball team will open Lone Star Conference play on the road starting with a three-game series against Texas A&M-Kingsville starting on Friday, Feb. 16 at 6 p.m. and concluding with a doubleheader on Saturday, Feb. 17 beginning at 1 p.m.

The Rambelles are 10-1 on the season with a nine game win streak. The team is hitting .316 while scoring 80 runs while the pitching staff has a collective 1.46 earned run average. ASU has only givine up 18 runs on the season.

Three players are hitting over .400 to start the season led by sophomore Karina Rocha. The Buda native has 10 hits, four doubles and leads the team with five home runs. She has scored nine runs while driving in a team-high 16 RBIs. Rocha is also the team leader in slugging (1.261), walks (8) and on base percentage (.581). She has reached base safely in 10 of ASU's 11 games.

Madison Greenwell is the team leader in hits and runs scored with 14 and 12 respectively. She is second with a .424 average and has recorded two doubles and added to her career lead in triples with one on the year. She has 14 total career triples. She is perfect on the base paths going six for six in steals.

Bailey Wallace has recorded 10 hits on the year with three being doubles. The junior has a .400 average through 11 games and has been .483 on base percentage. She is 2-for-3 in stolen bases and has driven in six RBIs while scoring 11. She has the longest hit streak on the team with five straight.

Taegan Kirk leads the team in double with five and has recorded 11 hits with two home runs as well. She is tied for the team lead in RBIs with 16 and has scored nine runs. The Lubbock native is second on the team with a .679 slugging percentage. She has had six games of at least two RBIs.

Courtney Barnhill has 11 hits with four doubles and two home runs on the year. She is one of three Rambelle players to have double-digit RBIs with 12. She has drawn two walks on the year and scored 11 runs.

Morgan Hill has led the pitching staff this season with a 6-1 record and a 0.88 earned run average. She has thrown one compete game and one shutout. In 32.0 innings pitched she has struck out 33 batters and only allowed six runs.

Brandy Marlett is 3-0 on the season with a 1.83 ERA. She has thrown two complete games and struck out 23 batters in 23.0 innings pitched.

Meagan Hill earned her first collegiate victory against Adams State. She is 1-0 with a 2.71 ERA. The freshman has struck out 10 batters in five appearances.  Makayla Corbin has thrown 1.2 innings in her first collegiate season and has not allowed a hit.

Brooke Mangold has a .294 average with five hits. She has scored four runs and driven in three. She has been hit by a pitch three times and stole two bases.

Danae Bina has recorded six hits and the only player on the team with at least one double, one triple and one home run. She has stolen five bases and leads the team with hit-by-pitches currently with four. She has scored nine times and driven in four RBIs.

Mykayla Stroud has four hits on the season with one double and one home run. She has crossed the plate twice and driven in two as well.

Mylonee Becerra and Heather Reatherford each have two hits on the year in limited action. Reatherford has a double while driving in three runs and Becerra has one run score and one RBI on the year. Each has a walk.

Other Rambelles that have seen action include Megan Gordon, Amanda Ramage, Jade Strother and Jacqueline Montejano. Gordon and Strother have each scored two runs while Ramage has crossed the plate three times.
