SAN ANGELO – The No. 6 Angelo State softball team will travel to Commerce to take on No. 14 Texas A&M-Commerce with the No. 1 spot in the LSC on the line starting with a doubleheader on Friday, April 20 at 4 p.m.
The Rambelles are 38-6 overall and 20-4 in the LSC and have won eight-straight games. ASU is hitting .344 on the year with a 2.00 ERA as a pitching staff. The Lions enter the series at 35-5 and 20-4 in the LSC.
The pitching staff has the top LSC ERA at 2.00. The staff is led by seniors Morgan Hill and Brandy Marlett. Madison Greenwell, who is No. 6 in total hits in Division II, is four hits away from becoming ASU's all-time career leader in hits. She leads the Rambelles with a .422 batting average and is tied for the team lead with 45 runs scored.
Also tied for the team lead with 45 runs on the year is the No. 2 hitter on the team, Bailey Wallace. Wallace also leads the team with 15 hit-by-pitches and has reached base at a .493 clip this year.
