SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State women's basketball team maintained their Lone Star Conference lead with a 73-62 win over Midwestern State at home Saturday afternoon.
The Belles held Midwestern to seven points in the first quarter and cruised to victory from there, holding Midwestern to 31 percent shooting from the field and 26 percent from the three point line.
The Belles placed four players in double figures and were led by De'Anira Moore, who had 19 points and eight rebounds while shooting 9-13 from the field. Dezirae Hampton finished with 15 points and six rebounds, Marquita Daniels had 14 points and five rebounds, and Maria Delgado had 12 points on four made threes on the afternoon.
For the game, the Belles shot 46 percent from the field and 40 percent from the three point line.
The Belles will be in action again next week as they battle Tarleton State and Texas A&M-Commerce at home.
