SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Angelo State University Belles volleyball team travels to Commerce, Texas, and Tyler, Texas, to continue conference play against the Texas A&M-Commerce Lions on Friday, October 4 and the University of Texas at Tyler Lady Patriots on Saturday, October 5.

ASU and Commerce have played each other 20 times since 2006 with ASU leading the all-time series, 13-7. The last time these two teams played was November 15, 2018 in the first round of the South Central Regional Tournament, where Texas A&M-Commerce defeated Angelo State three sets to one. The Belles are 8-1 at home, while they are 5-4 on the road against Commerce.

ASU and UT Tyler will play for the first time in school history, due to UT Tyler joining the Lone Star Conference this year. The Lady Patriots currently sit at a 6-6 overall record with a 1-3 conference record.

Kailyn Gilbreath led the Belles offense over the previous week with 44 total kills against Lubbock Christian, UTPB, and Western New Mexico. Her hitting percentage was a .606 and she averaged 4.4 kills per set.

Lindsey Ledyard once again was a huge asset for the Belles offense as she totaled 54 assists for the previous week. She also played a huge part for the defense as well, totaling 22 digs for the Belles.

Haley Coulter was the top defender for the Belles in their last three matches, totaling 41 total digs for the Belles. She was a force for the offense, totaling 18 kills for the Belles against their opponents.

The Belles will return home for their Dig Pink game against the Eastern New Mexico Lady Greyhounds on Friday, October 11 and their YMCA game against the West Texas A&M Lady Buffs on Saturday, October 12. First serve is slated for 7 p.m. on Friday and Noon on Saturday.
