Belles Climb To 14-1 Overall With Win Over TAMUC

COMMERCE, Texas – The Angelo State University Belles volleyball team continued to show their prowess on the court, as they take Texas A&M Commerce to four sets, winning 3-1. Angelo State extends its record in conference to 6-0 and overall to 14-1.
 
In Case You Missed It:
  • ASU and Commerce would battle throughout the first set with the Belles slowly pulling ahead of the Lions.
  • With Meghan Parker and Morgan Preston taking control of the serve later on in the set, the Belles would pull ahead to a 17-10 lead.
  • On a 4-0 scoring run, ASU would take set one over the Lions.
 
  • In set two, the momentum changed for the Lions, as the Belles would have a slow start into the set going back and forth for points, as the Belles trailed behind.
  • When Kailyn Gilbreath came to the serving line, she would bring the Blue and Gold back into the fight on a six serve run for the Belles, bringing the Lions lead to three points at 19-22.
  • Sophia Berg was able to tie the set up at 24-24, but the Lions offense would prove too much for the Belles as they would take the set 27-25.
 
  • From the start of set three, ASU and TAMUC would battle back and forth for points until Lindsey Ledyard and Morgan Preston would come to the serving line. They both contributed four serve runs to bring the score to 12-4.
  • The Belles lead would continue to grow over the Lions until Ledyard would end the set for ASU 25-13.
 
  • At the beginning of set four the Belles and Lions would battle for points until Ledyard came to serve for the Belles to extend their lead to 11-6.
  • Gilbreath would later go on a five serve run for the Blue and Gold, three of those being service aces.
  • When Meghan Parker came to the serving line, she would go on a four serve run to extend the Belles lead to 24-11.
  • On a kill from Haley Coulter with the assist from Meghan Parker, ASU would take set four 25-11.

The Belles continue to play on the road as they travel to Tyler, Texas to take on the Lady Patriots at Louise Herrington Patriot Center. First serve is slated for 1 p.m.
