SAN ANGELO, Texas – The No. 14 Angelo State University Belle volleyball team played a well-deserved win against the Tarleton State Texans, winning the match in four sets, 3-1.
The Belles are now 24-2 overall, and are 16-1 in conference.

- Tarleton State gained momentum quickly in set one, scoring three points against the Belle defense.
- ASU quickly rallied to tie the score at 3-3 off of quick kills from Sundara Chinn.
- Angelo State and Tarleton State would rally back and forth, neither team able to gain enough of an advantage to gain a lead over the other.
- TSU pulled ahead of the Belles on kills and attack errors from the Belles, to jump to a 12-7 lead.
- Tarleton stayed ahead of the Belles until Lindsey Ledyard would come to the serving line. Ledyard served the Blue and Gold into the lead with six straight serves, as Kailyn Gilbreath registered two kills and TSU would make several attack errors, bringing the score to 20-18.
- A kill from Gilbreath, assisted by Ledyard, ended the first set for the Belles, 25-20.
- Tarleton started once again set two with momentum, propelling themselves into an early 4-0 lead into the second set.
- Angelo State would once again rally to tie the score against the Texans at 4-4.
- The Texans gained the lead with a kill and a service ace, 10-7.
- ASU made a comeback to put themselves within a three point deficit at 18-15 off a service error from Tarleton State and a kill from Bailey Drum.
- With Morgan Preston to serve for the Belles, and attack errors from the Texans, Angelo State tied the set at 19-19.
- A hard fought battle, Tarleton State ended set two quickly, 25-19.
- The Blue and Gold found momentum early into set three, as Ledyard once again served another six straight points, alongside kills from Gilbreath and Drum and two service aces, leading the Texans, 8-2.
- Meghan Parker kept the serving train going as she also served for six straight serves. Adding one service ace, along with kills from Chinn and Chloe Patton, ASU led the Texans, 20-6.
- Kills from Drum and Sophia Berg, along with a service ace from Makenna Hanssen, and an attack error form Tarleton, Angelo State dominated set three, 25-12.
- Patton and Hanssen kept the Belles momentum going, quickly jumping to a 5-1 lead in set four.
- Preston kept the Belles lead going, serving for three straight serves, with a kill from Baleigh Allen and attack errors from the Texans.
- Parker to serve once again, extended the Belles lead to 15-8, with kills from Chinn and a service ace.
- Two kills from Chinn, and attack errors from Tarleton State, alongside Hanssens serving capabilities, ASU's lead grew to 20-13.
- Tarleton attempted a comeback late in the latter half of the set, but fell short as Angelo State once again took and kept control of the set to win set four, and the match, 25-19.
Key Players:
- Kailyn Gilbreath and Sundara Chinn led the Belle offense into battle, registering 26 kills between the two of them, Gilbreath having 14 and Chinn, 12.
- Meghan Parker and Lindsey Ledyard registered 34 assists, both of them having 17 each. Parker registered nine digs, and Ledyard registered 10.
- Makenna Hanssen became ASU's defensive wall as she registered 27 digs, Ledyard following behind with 10.
