SAN ANGELO, Texas – The No. 14 Angelo State University Belle volleyball team travels to Commerce, Texas to participate in the Lone Star Conference Tournament Quarterfinals. Tournament play lasts from Tuesday, November 19 through Friday, November 23.
Since Angelo State won its division, the No. 2 seeded Belles received a bye for the first game of the tournament, along with the No. 1 seeded Texas A&M-Commerce Lions, the No. 3 seeded St. Edwards Hilltoppers, and the No. four seeded Tarleton State Texans.
Regionally, the Belles are the only Lone Star Conference team in the top 25, with Commerce, Tarleton, and Arkansas Fort-Smith all receiving votes, according to the American Volleyball Coaches Association. Regis, a member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, the other conference in the South Central Region, is ranked in the No. 5 position. Metropolitan State University of Denver and the Colorado School of Mines also received votes.
Depending on who wins between DBU and UTPB, Angelo State will play the winner. Angelo State played UTPB twice this season, sweeping them at home and winning in five sets in Odessa, 3-2. ASU played Dallas Baptist once this season at home, beating them in four sets, 3-1.
