The Rams extend their record to 3-0 and 1-0 in conference action.

In Case You Missed It:
  • Lubbock Christian started off on a 5-0 run to begin the game but Ibarguen stopped it with a dunk at the 16:46 mark for the Rams to trail 5-2.
  • The Rams grabbed their first lead of the game at the 13:11 mark on made layup by Bell with an assist from Jeremy Hayes to lad 10-9.
  • Both teams traded off the lead the duration of the first half with LCU holding a 31-26 edge at halftime.
  • The Chaparrals came out and hit a quick two-pointer in the paint to increase their lead by seven and held the Rams to a two point or more differential until the 13:35 mark when Hayes hit a shot from beyond the arc to give the Blue and Gold a 43-42 lead.
  • LCU took one more lead right after that hitting a two-pointer in the paint at 13:09 but Collin Turner answered back with a shot in the paint to give ASU a 45-44 lead.

Coach Boone's Comments:
"We are really proud of opening up conference play at home with a win. Our guys made a great adjustment at halftime to attack the offensive glass better in the second half. Outrebounding LCU by 17 was a huge key to the game. I give our guys a lot of credit for how they came back after a halftime deficit and come away with a win." When asked about his 100th career win as a head coach, Boone humbly said he was grateful to have the opportunity and gave credit to his staff as well. Boone's career wins began in a single season as the head coach at Jacksonville Junior College with 16 wins and recorded the remaining 84 at Angelo State University.

Key Players:
  • Bell and Ibarguen both finished with double-doubles.
  • Hayes finished with 11 points to round out the double-digit scorers while seven other Rams contributed points as well.
  • Coach Cinco Boone earned his 100th career win as a head coach with the victory.
  • The Rams shot 47.3 percent from the floor, 39.1 percent from beyond the arc, and 63.2 percent from the line.
  • ASU out rebounded the Chaparrals, 44-27.
