PORTALES, NEW MEXICO – The Angelo State men's basketball team could not capitalize on a 14 point halftime lead and lost to Eastern New Mexico 83-71 Saturday afternoon to drop to 16-7 (9-5 Lone Star Conference) on the season.
Ronald Bell led the Rams with 16 points and eight rebounds, and Collin Turner and Paul Williams joined him in double figures with 12 and 11 points, respectively. Turner was perfect from the field and made three three pointers. Antonio Singleton just missed out with nine points, and Josh Boutte had seven points and nine rebounds.
The Rams struggled to find the basket, shooting 32 percent from the field and 28 percent from the three point line while allowing the Greyhounds to shoot 43 percent from the field. The Rams also allowed ENMU to outrebound them 49-43 and attempt 30 free throws to their 20.
The Rams will be in action this coming weekend as they will take on Western New Mexico and UT Permian Basin at home.
