SAN ANTONIO, TX – The Angelo State Rambelles (13-1 overall, 3-0 LSC) head to San Antonio to play the St. Mary's Rattlers (8-5 overall) on Wednesday, February 20th for a double header starting at 4 p.m.
ASU is currently hitting at a team average of .383 which leads the Lone Star Conference. The Rambelles also lead the league in RBI and on base percentage, while only trailing only WTAMU in homeruns by a margin of four. Angelo State has been consistent at the plate when needing to bring runs in, hitting at .393 clip with runners on base, and a blistering .412 with runners in scoring position. The Rambelles also successfully advance runners 54% of the time, and have their leadoff hitter reach base at a .494 rate.
The Rattlers will put their four game winning streak on the line against the Rambelles' nine. St. Mary's has called Staci Johns (5-2) to take up the majority of time in the circle. The junior from Elgin, Texas has put in 48.2 innings of work and holds a 1.58 ERA with a .89 WHIP. Johns has consistently attacked the strike zone, striking out 38 and walking five in 182 at bats.
Courtney Barnhill has been a terror to pitchers when she in in the box, holding a impressing .500 batting average. Barnhill, who just earned LSC Hitter of the Week honor, leads the team in the RBI category with 26 and has also hit a team-leading five homeruns. As a leadoff hitter, the Lubbock native does not fill the prototypical leadoff profile, leading the team in seven offensive categories.
The Rambelle lineup has been extremely consistent at the plate, with three other hitters hitting over .400, and six hitting well over .300.

Taegan Kirk and Taylor Fogle also head to St. Mary's with averages over .400, as they are hitting .442 and .441 respectively. The pair have combined for 32 RBI and only nine combined strikeouts.
The Angelo State pitching staff consists of Meagan Hill, Makayla Corbin, and Victoria Vasquez, who are holding the opposition to a .256 average. The trio have struck out a combined 57 hitters and walked only 36.
