SILVER CITY, NM – The Angelo State Rambelles continued to pour on the runs during their series in Silver City as they shutout the Mustangs for a series finale 9-0 win. ASU added three more home runs to their already impressive series tally, bringing the total to nine on the weekend.
Courtney Barnhill collected her second perfect plate performance of the series by going three for three with three runs and three RBI. The Lubbock native collected yet another double and home run on the season as well. Taylor Fogle also had a solid day at the plate to close out the weekend, going 3-3 with two runs scored and three RBI. Megan Gordon was the third Rambelle on the team with multiple hits as she was 2-3 and crossed the plate twice as a runner, but most impressively stole three bases. Maleya Burns also collected her second home run of her freshman campaign, a three-run bomb in the first inning.
Meagan Hill (15-7) collected her 15th win of the season on a four inning appearance in which she struck out three, walked none, gave up two hits, and only faced 14 batters. Victoria Vasquez put a lid on the game as she took to the circle in the final inning of play and kept the Mustangs silent for the shutout.
