SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Angelo State University Belles volleyball team swept the UTPB Falcons in three sets to zero tonight at the Junell Center Stephens Arena.
 
In Case You Missed It:

• UTPB kept the score quite close throughout the first set, matching the Belles point-for-point, until ASU slowly pulled ahead later in the set.
• ASU would later come and win set one, 25-19.
• The Belles would take the lead against the Falcons early on in set two, thanks to kills from both Kailyn Gilbreath and Makenzie Griffin.
• With some close call digs from Makenna Hanssen, Lindsey Ledyard, and Haley Coulter, ASU was able to keep the ball in play and keep UTPB from scoring as much in set two.
• The Blue and Gold would finish set two victorious, winning 25-13.
• ASU would jump to an early 5-1 lead in set three, thanks to serves from Haley Coulter.
• The Belles would continue to show their dominance throughout the third set, keeping at least a three to four point lead until Ledyard would take command of the serve, extending it to a six point lead at 20-14.
• ASU would win set three, 25-17.

 
Key Players:

• Meghan Parker and Lindsey Ledyard were both outstanding for the Belle offense, Parker having 19 assists and Ledyard having 17.
• Kailyn Gilbreath once again led the Belles offense into action with 14 kills, and Makenzie Griffin coming up shortly behind with 11.
• Haley Coulter would lead the ASU defense with 21 digs, while Makenna Hanssen would end the night with 18, and Ledyard would finish with 12.
