SAN ANGELO, Texas – Collin Turner paved the way as the Angelo State University men's basketball team claimed an 85-77 victory over the University of Texas Permian Basin Falcons on Thursday night. Turner finished with a career and season-high 27 points to lead the Rams' offense.
The Blue and Gold improve to 8-2 on the season and 4-2 in conference action.

- UTPB came out quick to grab the lead to start the game and managed to hold on it to it for the whole first half.
- The Rams brought the score within three points at halftime, 34-31.
- In the second half, ASU came out in dominating force, starting out on an 8-0 run (39-35) to grab its first lead of the game at 35-34, off a pair of free throws by Paul Williams.
- The Falcons wouldn't give up as they tied it up three times in the second half.
- At the 9:26 mark, Camron Reedus knocked down a three to push the Rams lead to 58-54 and start another scoring run of 6-0 to lead by seven points at the 8:49 mark by a score of 61-54.
- Towards the end of the second half, the Blue and Gold made another 8-0 run starting at 5:31 off a free throw, a three-pointer, and layup by Turner and a layup by Andres Ibarguen to lead 75-66.
- In the final two minutes, the Rams were up by 11 points at 79-68 to hold on to the lead and secure an 85-77 victory.

- Turner finished with 27 points, going 8-for-19 from the floor, 3-for-11 from the three, and 8-for-10 from the charity stripe.
- Ibarguen notched another double-double on the season contributing with 13 points and grabbed a season-high 15 rebounds for the Ram defense.
- Jeremy Hayes (18) and Paul Williams (11) also scored in double-digits to help the ASU offense claim the victory over the Falcons.
- The Ram defense outrebounded UTPB, 54-40.
- The Blue and Gold shot 38.5 percent from the field, 21.9 percent from downtown, and 70 percent from the line.
