Rambelles Defeat Oklahoma Christian In Big Win

EDMOND, Oklahoma – The Angelo State Belles snapped a three game losing streak as they defeated the Oklahoma Christian Eagles, 90-84.
The Belles move to 13-8 overall, and 10-7 in conference.
 
In Case You Missed It:
First Quarter
  • A layup and two free throws from De'Anira Moore tied the game up at 4-4 against the Eagles.
  • Several free throws from Moore and a jumper from Sawyer Lloyd extended the Belles lead to four points, 8-4.
  • Oklahoma Christian would jump ahead by three by Angel Hayden cut the Eagles lead down to one with two free throws, 11-12.
  • The Eagles would once again extend their lead to three, but a layup from Moore and a three pointer from Lana Marov brought the Belles back to a two point lead, 16-14.
  • Two layups from Samantha Rocha extended the Belles lead up to four points, 20-16.
Second Quarter
  • A fast break layup from Lloyd started the second quarter off for ASU, extending the Belles lead to six, 22-16.
  • A three from Marov brought the Belles up to a nine point lead, 27-18.
  • The Eagles would cut the lead down to five, but two free throws from Asia Davis brought the Belles lead back to seven, 31-24.

Third Quarter
  • A layup from Moore, with the assist from Catara Samuel, started the third quarter off for the Belles, bringing ASUs' lead back to four after the Eagles cut it down to two points, 42-38.
  • Oklahoma Christian would take the lead from Angelo State, growing their lead to five, but three pointers from Lloyd and Marov brought ASU back to a one point lead, 48-47.
  • A layup from Moore and a three pointer from Marov brought the lead back to three, 53-50.

  • The Eagles would tie the game at 72-72, but a three pointer from Davis extended the Belles lead back to three, 75-72.
  • A jumper from Moore and a layup from Samuel maintained the Belles three point lead, 79-76.
  • A three pointer from Marov extended the Belles back to six, 82-76.

  • Lana Marov was on fire tonight as she scored 26 points for the Belles, shooting 9-12 from the field, and 8-9 from the three point line, tying for second for three pointers made in ASU history. Marov grabbed eight total rebounds, one on offense and seven on defense.
  • De'Anira Moore came in clutch for the Belles tonight, scoring 18 points for ASU. Moore shot 7-11 from the field and 4-4 from the free throw line. Moore grabbed eight rebounds against the Eagles, four on offense and defense, while grabbing four blocks total.
