SAN ANGELO – With the early signing period opening yesterday for prospective collegiate student-athletes to sign their National Letters of Intent (NLI) to play at the next level, Belle Volleyball head coach Chuck Waddington has penned four future Belles who will join the ranks of the Belle Volleyball program next fall.

"I am really excited about this class," said Waddington. "Four impact players in four different positions. I am looking forward to the contributions these players will make in the fall and beyond."

Caroline Brackens | Outside Hitter | Yulee, Fla. | Yulee HS
At Yulee High School, Brackens has recorded 692 kills in 227 sets played, averaging 3.04 kills per set. She has a .219 hitting percentage and has 164 service aces as well as 532 digs. A member of the Student Government Association (SGA) as well as the National Honor Society at Yulee HS, Brackens was named a Third Team All-First Coast in 2020 and has been a stat leader in District 4A for the last two years. Brackens intends to major in Civil Engineering.
Waddington on Brackens: "Caroline is a really athletic outside hitter with great ball control. She will add some much-needed depth in that position and really push for court time. She has a really high ceiling for growth too with a desire to get better every day!"

Cate Boldrick | Middle Blocker | Austin, Texas | Westlake HS
At Westlake High School, Boldrick has been a second-team All-District performer for the Chaparrals in addition to being on the honor roll as a student. This season, she was named to the Prairieland All-Tournament Team as well as being named an AVCA All-Region performer. Boldrick intends to major in Education.
Waddington on Boldrick: "Cate is an extremely athletic and hardworking middle. She reminds me a lot of current senior, Sophia Berg. She can score both in front and behind the setter and is a relentless blocker. She wants to be great at everything she does. I can't wait to get her in our gym!"

Ireland Ferguson | Defensive Specialist | Venice, Fla. | Venice HS
At Venice High School, Ferguson has been a four-year letterwinner on the varsity volleyball team, including serving as team captain for the past two years. She has been named to the All-Area First Team twice in her prep career. Ferguson intends to major in Physical Therapy.
Waddington on Ferguson: "I'm really excited about Ireland. Her HS program [Venice HS] has produced some of the best liberos in the state of Florida over the years. She is no exception. She is ultra-competitive and tough as nails.  She will be one of the hardest working kids in the gym every day."

Kaila Garnett | Right Side | Plano, Texas | Plano West HS
At Plano West High School, Garnett has been a four-year letterwinner for the Wolves volleyball program, helping them reach the State 6A Semifinals in 2018 and the 6A State Finals in 2019. Last season, she was named a First Team All-District performer and was named to the Academic All-State team. Garnett intends to major in Biology.
Waddington on Garnett: "Kaila is one of the most explosive athletes I've seen in a while on the right side. Really quick off the floor with a big arm! She is a difference maker at the net as a blocker as well. I think she can make a huge impact in this program."
