Rams Close Out Non-Conference Play Against Arlington Baptist

The Angelo State men's basketball team will close out non-conference play this Saturday as the Rams take on Arlington Baptist before a two-week hiatus.
 
Immediately following the end of Saturday's games, the Rams will be hosting a free basketball camp open to kids of all ages.
 
LAST WEEK:
The Rams split two games last week, falling to St. Edward's 75-59 last Saturday in Brownwood before bouncing back defeat St. Mary's 81-71 on Monday. Kelyn Pennie scored a season-high 14 points to lead the Rams past the Rattlers while Tyrell Carroll finished with 13 points and seven assists.

Members of the National Christian College Atheltic Association (NCCAA), the Patriots are 3-7 overall on the year. Their biggest win came against Manhattan Christian, winning 75-71 over the No. 2 ranked team in the NCCAA's Division II. That victory propelled ABU to the No. 3 overall ranking in the latest NCAA DII poll. Other wins for the Patriots include Texas College and the University of Dallas.
 
Arlington Baptist is scoring the 12th most points in the NCCAA DII, averaging 76.1 points per game while defensively, the Patriots are allowing 87.7 points per game. Da'voine Stafford is the leading scorer for ABU, averaging 18.6 points per game followed by Trey Ballard and Braxton Bosher with 14.7 and 12.4 points respectively.
