The last time that the Belles and Lady Chaps played each other was on Tuesday, October 22 of 2019, where the Belles travelled to Lubbock, Texas and were defeated in the Rip Griffin Center in four sets. Scouting Lubbock Christian:
The Chaps split the series with the University of Texas Permian Basin Falcons this past week, with the Chaps defeating the Falcons in the first match, 4-1, while the Falcons defeated the Chaps in the second match, 3-1. LCU returns one of their top players in Avery Moore. Moore finished the 2019 season third in kills, registering 259 for the Chaps, averaging 2.78 kills per set, and ending the season with a .226 hitting percentage. Currently, Moore has 55 kills, averaging 2.89 kills per set with a .144 hitting percentage.
Scouting the Belles:
- Kailyn Gilbreath currently leads the Belles offensively, registering 42 kills on the season so far, averaging 3.5 kills per set with a .248 hitting percentage. Gilbreath has registered 19 assists, six service aces, 36 digs, and 11 block assists currently.
- Chloe Patton leads Angelo State on defense, registering 60 digs so far, averaging five digs per set. Patton currently is tied for second most service aces on the season with three alongside Baleigh Allen.
Lindsey Ledyard has shown her skills as the starting setter for ASU, already accumulating 93 assists for the season thus far, averaging 7.75 assists per set. Ledyard currently has registered two service assists, 35 digs and averaging 2.92 digs per set, one solo block and four block assists.
