ASU Track & Field Set for NCAA DII National Championships

SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Angelo State track & field teams are set to compete at the 2022 Division II Outdoor National Championships hosted by Grand Valley State in Allendale, Mich., beginning Thursday, May 26.

The 11th-ranked Belles will be represented by 10 individuals while the 13th-ranked Rams qualified nine individuals for the national meet.
 
Antonija Radic will enter the meet with three top 10 marks in Division II, ranking third in the triple jump (12.85m | 42'-2"), sixth in the lone jump (6.22m | 20'-5"), and ninth in the high jump (1.74m | 5'-8.5").
 
The 4x400-meter relay team of Zykia McDaniel, Genevie Rivera, Shiean Walters, and Maricia Spence qualified with the seventh-best time of 3:41.73. Hannah Porter qualified with the 25th best time in the 100-meter dash at 11.70.
 
Spence will also compete in the heptathlon, ranking fourth with 5,371 points, the long jump (6.15m | 20'-2.25"), and the 100-meter hurdles (13.74). Also competing in the heptathlon is Abby Zamzow who ranks 15th with a total of 4,972 points.
 
Sara Ramos and Jennifer Batu will represent the Belles in the hammer throw, ranking 10th and 17th respectively with throws of 58.50m (191'-11") and 57.01m (187'-0") while Talena Murray will compete in the javelin with a mark of 44.81m (147'-0") which is 20th in DII.
 
For the Rams, Elvis Kryukov holds the top mark in the decathlon, earning 7,529 points at the David Noble Relays. Also competing in the event is Kyle Lumpkins who sits at 15th with a total of 6,901 points.
 
Viktor Ertelt and Luis Alvarado both rank in the top 10 in the javelin with Ertlet at fifth (67.42m | 221'-2") and Alvarado at ninth (66.21m | 217'-3"). In the triple jump, Joshua Body enters with the 11th best mark at 15.34m (50'-4") followed by Axcel Santana at 15.13m (49'-7.75").
 
Holding a top 10 mark in the discus is Cason Brown who enters the meet with a throw of 55.69m (182'-8") while Canon Andrews is 12th in the hammer with a toss of 61.69m (202'-5"). Competing on the track is David Morgan who holds the 19th best time in the 100-meter dash at 10.37 while Kryukov ranks 22nd in the 110-meter hurdles at 14.18.
