ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Angelo State track & field programs wrapped up day one of the 2022 NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships at the GVSU Track & Field Stadium hosted by Grand Valley State.
Elvis Kryukov had a strong start in the decathlon, earning 4,005 points. He finished first in the shot put and high jump while coming in second in the 400-meter run and is only 12 points off first.
In the heptathlon,
Maricia Spence is in sixth after day one, collecting 3,165 points with her best finish coming in the 200-meter dash at sixth. Behind her,
Abby Zamzow totaled 2,819 points through four events.
Canon Andrews finished 16
th overall in the men's hammer throw, hitting a distance of 57.17m (187'-6") while
Sara Ramos threw the women's hammer a distance of 51.30m (168'-4") to take 18
th.
In the women's long jump,
Antonija Radic earned a mark of 5.81m (19'-0.75") to earn 11
th overall followed by Spence in 12
th with a jump of (19'-0.5").
In the 100-meter dash,
David Morgan ran 10.67 to finish in 15
th on the men's side while
Hannah Porter took 20
th on the women's side with a time of 11.91.
The multis continue tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. EST, while the running events begin at 10:30 a.m. EST.
