ALLENDALE, Mich. – The Angelo State track & field teams wrapped up day two of the 2022 Division II Outdoor National Championships on Friday, collected one individual title and along with several top 10 performances.
Elvis Kryukov highlighted the day for ASU, claiming the decathlon title after earning a personal best of 7,574 points. He took first in the pole vault, discus, and the 110-meter hurdles to go along with top marks in the shot put and high jump from yesterday. Also competing in the decathlon was
Kyle Lumpkins who turned in a 10
th-place finish with 6,935 points.
Maricia Spence continued to perform well in the heptathlon, earning a spot on the podium with a fourth place finished after collecting 5,369 points in the event.
Abby Zamzow finished 15
th overall with 4,752 points.
In the men's discus,
Cason Brown earned a mark of 55.52m (182'-2") to take third place in the event while
Antonija Radic finished seventh overall in the triple jump with a mark of 12.42m (40'-9").
The women's 4x400-meter relay team of
Zykia McDaniel,
Shiean Walters,
Genevie Rivera, and Spence qualified for the finals after earning a time of 3:46.81.
Day three concludes the national championships tomorrow continuing with field events at 9: 30 a.m.
