Rams and Belles Earn 15th in Final LEARFIELD Director's Cup Standings for Highest Finish

SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Angelo State athletic department wrapped up one of the most impressive seasons, earning 15th in the final 2021-22 LEARFIELD Directors' Cup standings which is the highest finish the Rams and Belles have ever had.

The LEARFIELD Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in NCAA Championships. Overall, 15 sports are counted in the final DII standings, four of which must be women's volleyball and basketball and men's basketball and baseball. The next highest (11 max.) sports scored for each institution, regardless of gender, are used in the standings.

The Rams and Belles had 11 teams earn points while competing in an NCAA championship this season in football, women's soccer, volleyball, men's basketball, men's and women's indoor track & field, women's tennis, softball, baseball, and men's and women's outdoor track & field.

ASU collected 555.30 total points between fall, winter, and spring season, finishing as the second highest Lone Star Conference member. The previous highest finish was 17th during the 2018-19 season.
