Denver, Colo. – The first day of competition concluded for the Angelo State volleyball team at the Colorado Premier Challenge, which saw the Belles drop their matches on Friday against top-ten opposition, No. 10 Northwest Missouri State and No. 4 MSU Denver.
The tenth-ranked team in the country started the match by scoring the first ten points against the Belles, setting a tone that the Belles were unable to recover from, with the Bearcats going on a 9-0 run later in the set as well.
Kaila Garnett led the Belles with eight of the team's 21 kills, with the freshman hitting .438.

Caleigh Enax led the team with 19 digs in the match, a new career-high for the sophomore.
In a rematch from last year's South Central regional, the Belles' best set of the day was the second set against hosts MSU Denver. The Belles used multiple scoring runs to stay competitive against the Roadrunners, even holding the lead throughout the set.
Elsa Lamphere and Garnett buried seven kills each, while
Sam Rodgers added five more. Enax led the team with 11 digs in the match, and
Kayla Baer led the team with 12 assists.
The Belles will compete in the bronze bracket on day two, opening tomorrow with a match against No. 18 Lewis.
