LUBBOCK, Texas – The Angelo State track & field teams concluded the Corky Classic hosted by Texas Tech on Saturday, tallying five provisional marks on day two at the Sports Performance Center.
ASU's women's 4x400-meter relay team took eighth overall, leading all Division II schools, as
Shiean Walters,
Zykia McDaniel,
Maricia Spence, and
Shadae Findlay put together a time of 3:46.04 to earn a provisional mark and the second fastest time in all of Division II this year.
Anna Riccomagno turned in a top 10 performance for the Rambelles in section B of the women's long jump, hitting a mark of 5.62m (18'-5.25") to finish seventh overall in the event. Spence advanced to the semifinal round of the women's 60-meter hurdles, finishing 11
th overall with a time of 8.87 which was the fastest among Division II competitors.
The Belles had three runners finish in the top 10 of section A of the 400-meter run as Findley took seventh (55.41), followed by Walters in ninth (56.36), and McDaniel in 10
th (57.06). Findley and Walters both earned a provisional mark with their time.
The women's triple jump results also featured three Belles as
Allison Vaughn finished in seventh with a mark of 11.62m (38'-1.50"), followed by
Kylie Frush in ninth (11.36m | 37'-3.25"), and
Abby Zamzow in 10
th (11.32m | 37'-1.75").
On the men's side,
Jacobee Jones took seventh in section A of the pole vault, clearing a height of 4.87m (15'-11.75") to earn a provisional mark.
Kyle Lumpkins advanced to the semifinals of the 60-meter hurdles before finishing 13
th, earning a provisional mark with a time of 8.22 while
Elvis Kryukov also hit a provisional in the opening round of the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.18. Kryukov also finished ninth overall in the shot put with a mark of 15.48m (50'-9.5").
Finishing ninth overall in the men's triple jump was Josh Body who jumped 14.35m (47'-1") while the men's 4x400-meter relay team of
Bossman Pinkrah,
Emmett Seals Jr., Lumpkins, and
JoeMarcus Mireles finished 10
th overall with a time of 3:18.20.
The Rams and Belles will be back in action next weekend as they travel to Oklahoma for the J.D. Martin Invite in Norman, Okla., on Saturday, Jan. 21.
